In an initiative that could go a long way in bridging the gap between Priests and young Catholics, a Basketball match was organized at the St. Paul’s School Campus, in Manipur’s Chandel district, between young priests of the Archdiocese of Imphal and the North East Catholic Community Delhi (NECCOD) Basketball team, on October 16, 2021. The one-match encounter, which has been widely appreciated as a much needed beginning, was initiated by Th. Tommy Monsang, former President and senior member of NECCOD, who, in the last several years, has been the moving spirit behind the success of its Basketball team in the Archdiocese of Delhi. The keenly contested fixture was won by the NECCOD team 60:52, yet again exemplifying that they are the team to be beaten.
