Catholic community of Sikkim celebrating Christmas with CM Sikkim
Christmas Carol Choir team of the St. Paul the Apostle Church, Gangtok, Sikkim, had the unique distinction of presenting Christmas Carols at the residence of Prem Singh Tamang (Goley), Chief Minister of Sikkim, on 24th December 2022 at Mintokgang. The rare honour was given to Catholic community of Darjeeling-Sikkim Diocese for the first time in the history of Sikkim. Beside the Chief Minister, Ms. Krishna Rai, wife of Hon’ble Chief Minister, G. T. Dhungel MLA, T. T. Bhutia, MLA, Jacob Khaling, Political Secretary to the Chief Minister, and Andrias Nepal, were the other dignitaries who witnessed the Carol singing. The Choir was led by Rev. Fr. David Yozan Rai, Parish Priest, St. Paul the Apostle Church, presenting carols in Latin, English and Nepali, which was much appreciated by the audience. Beside the Choir, Rev. Fr. Stephan Gyan Rai, Parish Priest, St. Peter Parish, Rev. Fr. Albert Lepcha, Asistant Parish Priest, St. Paul the Apostle Church and Rev. Sr. Catharine Bhutia, were also part of the team spreading the message of peace.
