Darjeeling Diocese Bids Adieu to a Senior Priest

(Late) Rev. Fr. Leonard Tamsang Lepcha
The Diocese of Darjeeling bid a tearful farewell to Rev. Fr. Leonard Tamsang, who breathed his last on the morning of October 29, 2020 at Gianora Home, 8th Mile, Kalimpong, where he was residing along with fellow retired Priests. Born on August 8, 1942 in Kalimpong, Rev. Fr. Tamsang was ordained a Priest on November 26, 1972, and during his illustrious journey as a missionary, he worked in different Parishes in the Diocese of Darjeeling, including a stint as Secretary to the Bishop. Among countless services he rendered to the Catholic Church, Fr. Leonard Tamsang contributed immensely in bringing out the Nepali Hymns, as well as in translating the Liturgy into local language. He was in retirement at the Gianora Home, Kalimpong since 2012.
