Diocese of Agartala Celebrates Silver Jubilee

The Diocese of Agartala on December 4, 2021, celebrated its Silver Jubilee, alongside the Silver Jubilee of Bishop Lumen Montero, who is the first Bishop of Agartala. The glittering ceremony which was held at the Holy Cross ground at Agartala was attended by several Archbishops and Bishops of North East region. The congregation was led by hundreds of young girls, attired in 19 tribe-dresses of Tripura. The Grand finale was the culmination of a year-long jubilee-related activities in the Diocese, well-coordinated by clergy, religious and laity. This landmark occasion is expected to boost the Catholic movement in the state of Tripura, where Catholic presence is modest, as compared to other states in the region.
