After being deprived of the opportunity to come together for social or spiritual get-together for two long years, members of the North East Catholic Community, Delhi (NECCOD), took full advantage of the relaxations allowed by the government following improvement in Covid situation, and huddled for a fulfilling three-day Retreat at the Jeevan Jyoti Ashram, Burari, in North Delhi. This spiritually rejuvenating exercise was preached by Rev. Fr. Nathan, Assistant Director of Jeevan Jyoti Ashram, while Rev, Fr. Vijay Barreto, the Chaplain of NECCOD moderated the sequence of the worships. Besides the two priests, Mathew Anthony, Bernadette Mable Morris and John Cyril had also exhorted participants, speaking on different topics. The NECCOD, which is one of the most vibrant Catholic groups in the Archdiocese of Delhi, is known for their active involvement in social and spiritual activities. However, the last two years have been a period of lull owing to Covid- induced lockdowns and restrictions. The retreat therefore, came as a perfect nemesis to the long spell of isolation, which most participants described as spiritually enriching event.
